Sarah serves as a Digital Marketing Associate, specializing in both SEO and the Google Ad Grant. She is inspired by the power of combining creativity and empathy with data analysis, research, and technical problem solving to increase the impact of meaningful causes. She is also passionate about writing, public speaking, and sharing knowledge. She became a lifelong supporter of nonprofits while growing up in Eastern Europe, where she began volunteering at a very young age and never stopped.
She received her BS in Sociology and Media Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she became interested in combining knowledge of societal data trends and collective behavior with progressive media work. While there, she interned as the lead social media and web content writer at CreateAthon@VCU, which has provided over 2 million dollars worth of pro bono marketing deliverables to nonprofits in Richmond, Virginia. She also led a summer class for the children of refugees in a resettlement program, and interviewed women facing domestic violence in Honduras.
As a musician, she volunteered as a music therapist for children living with Down syndrome and adults living in psychiatric facilities. She is passionate about combating mental health stigma, and has advocated for more compassionate care in the mental health system and society through writing and music.
In her free time she enjoys singing, yoga, reading, traveling, and getting analytical about astrology. She is also a proud cat mom.
