Digital Optimization Manager

This role is a rare opportunity to support many nonprofit and for-good partners to improve the design and execution of their digital product strategies. Our Digital Optimization Manager will manage multiple nonprofit client relationships and work across different Whole Whale teams and projects. With a focus on user experience and conversion rate optimization, you will work closely with the Content, Analytics and Tech teams to update landing pages, user flows, and design A/B tests that increase the conversion rate on meaningful metrics. This position will constantly be asking “How can we turn this client traffic into conversions and impact for the organization?” You are inherently curious, dogged in your pursuit of an answer, a delegation master, and strong communicator. The preferred location for this role is Whole Whale’s HQ in DUMBO, Brooklyn – though we are open to remote employees for a good fit.

Responsibilities

Digital Optimization Lead

  • Guide and execute conversion rate optimization work across the company, staying up-to-date on tactics and regularly stress-testing our approaches
  • Craft and execute nonprofit strategies to increase conversions on meaningful metrics, such as email signups, volunteer registrations, and donations
  • Plan, run, and report on landing page and form completion A/B tests
  • Design user flows to optimize conversion rates and analytics tracking
  • Analyze engagement data from multiple sources, such as Google Analytics and Crazyegg, to extract insights on bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement
  • Architect taxonomy for content libraries on websites to enhance content discovery through both navigation and search
  • Research and plan tools integration to increase data sync efficiency and accuracy
  • Support conversion and optimization work for internal Whole Whale products and services (wholewhale.com/products)

 

Client Account Management

  • Serve as the main point of contact for 3-5 nonprofit clients; lead regular meetings, set client expectations, provide email support, present reports and deliverables, and communicate progress on projects
  • Provide a 30K foot view for clients to best leverage Whole Whale’s digital marketing capabilities to help them make progress towards their impact goals; translate client goals into tasks that can be supported by the broader Whole Whale team
  • Lead project management for assigned clients; define project objectives, set timelines, and work with team members to delegate work relevant to their expertise to meet project milestones and deadlines
  • Be a partner and advocate for clients internally and find ways to deliver quality service and support, exceed their expectations, and increase their digital impact
  • Lead web video and in-person trainings and presentations on topics related to conversion optimization, A/B testing, Website UX, and other areas of expertise

 

Qualifications

  • Experience managing client and/or partner relationships

Digital Analyst Whaler

Whole Whale, a B Corp digital agency that leverages tech to increase impact for nonprofits, is looking for a New York City based technical analyst passionate about building tech to catalyze social impact. You will be working with clients to set up web analytics, as well as supporting the Whole Whale suite of products. In non-Covid times, Whole Whale is based in beautiful DUMBO, Brooklyn, NY. While we prefer NY-based candidates, remote applicants will also be considered.   

Responsibilities 

Reporting

  • Sift through and synthesize large quantities of web data to help guide digital strategy for clients
  • Build tools to visualize data across multiple platforms

Configuration

  • Audit and configure Google Analytics accounts for new clients 
  • Set up custom dimensions, custom metrics, view filters and other advanced configurations in Google Analytics to improve the tracking of online behaviors
  • Implement Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager scripts and code
  • Choose relevant tools, technologies, and open source libraries to iterate quickly and efficiently
  • Investigate how to implement custom tracking with third-party tools or without direct access to a site’s code, ie. e-commerce donation tracking
  • Maintain client and Whole Whale’s sites, including 404 fixes, performance optimization, and plugin updates based on knowledge
  • Write recommendation and training documents for clients
  • Foster a team culture focused on development best practices 

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Excel
  • Enthusiasm for mining insights from data
  • Superb attention to detail and ability to think through edge cases
  • Ability to communicate with non-technical humans
  • Willingness to learn how to facilitate 3rd party API integrations, such as CRMs, email marketing, and donation platforms, and build user-facing elements using ReactJS

SEO Manager

Our SEO Manager will manage multiple nonprofit client relationships and work across different Whole Whale teams and projects. With a focus on search engine optimization, content marketing, and information architecture, you will work closely with the Content and Analytics teams to create data-driven content strategies and support website redesigns and relaunches with SEO best practices.   • Aid in SEO keyword research and content modeling for WW and our clients

Whole Whale’s Fellowship Program helps prepare recent graduates and young professionals for full-time employment in the nonprofit and social impact sector by providing hands-on experience and skill-building with digital marketing. The Digital Marketing Fellow for Winter/Spring 2021 will focus on developing skills in digital advertising, search engine optimization, content marketing, and more.

Whole Whale’s Digital Marketing Fellowship is a 4 month program, where fellows are expected to work 4 or 5 days per week (days flexible) remotely until it is safe to return to our office in Brooklyn. Fellows will earn a weekly stipend for hours worked.

SEO + Content Marketing

  • Write and edit digital content (e.g. web content, blog posts, or email) for both Whole Whale and client websites
  • Aid in SEO keyword research and content modeling for WW and our clients

Digital Advertising + Social Media

  • Help plan and execute Facebook, YouTube, Google and other digital advertising campaigns for WW and clients (with a careful eye on every detail and checkbox)
